Asset recovery

An accounting loss is an accounting decision. It is not a fact.

When a receivable becomes an old default, it is provisioned, written off and leaves the company's life. From then on the asset still exists — only nobody is in charge of it any more. Entire books live in that limbo: no longer in the result, still in law, lapsing quietly in the dead files.

A written-off book has a market value, and it depends less on the outstanding balance than on three things: age, quality of the debtor records and the existence of collateral. A traceable debtor with a well-documented contract is worth multiples of an incomplete record from ten years ago. That is why the first step is not to collect — it is to appraise, and to say honestly which part is not worth the effort.

We conduct negotiation, structured collection, disposal or assignment, as the case requires. And, where it makes sense, the group's capital may be the counterparty — always with an independent valuation and with the client free to take the asset to market. A buyer who also appraises must declare what he is.

Worth remembering a deadline: the right to collect a debt evidenced in writing lapses, and the clock runs even with the book sitting in the archive. Interrupting the limitation period is a simple, cheap act; discovering that it has run is final. The greatest loss in a written-off book is not the default — it is the calendar.

How we are paid

A percentage of the amount actually recovered, with no entry cost. It is the natural structure for a practice that works on already written-off assets: the client does not put new money behind old money. If nothing comes back, nothing is paid — and our discipline in declining fragile cases comes precisely from there.
